Certificants may renew their certification by re-examination or by continuing education units only up to one year prior to the expiration of initial certification.

Re-certification by examination or 35 continuing education units is required every five years and will cost $300. If the time has exceeded one year since the date of your application to NAECB, you will need to apply to the NAECB again for permission to take the NAECB examination with all the associated fees ($350.00). In the case of extenuating circumstances, candidates may petition the NAECB. There is a waiting period of ninety (90) days between examination attempts with a maximum of three (3) attempts in a one (1) year period. Repeat candidate fees apply ($250.00) for each time the examination is repeated. If you do not pass the examination on the first attempt, you may reschedule a reexamination appointment within one year of your application date by contacting PSI at or 1-88. The scholarship must be used within six months of being granted. There are four scholarships of $350 that will be granted biannually in April and September of each year. Failure to do so will prevent registration.
